Physical Description Gilah Is not especially tall for a Klingon but retains a Typically Klingon powerful athletic build with wide shoulders, thick muscular limbs and prominent curves. Her skin is quite light on the Klingon spectrum, being as close to 'white' as a Klingon can really be and she has taken a few steps to integrate her appearance to be more palatable to other Federation citizens, especially for her patients. As a result had teeth are clean, white and not sharpened, remaining largely flat and fairly human-looking save for two canines on her upper jaw which are prominent even for a Klingon and tend to peak out from under her lip when she talks or smiles. As a further result of her extensive dental work and many years living in Federation her pronunciation is rather more precise and less phlegmy than many Klingons, however she does retain a very Klingon tone and manner of expression.

Continuing the theme of adapting to her Federation surroundings Gilah is often to be seen with perfectly manicured hands and her long dark chocolate brown hair which is naturally wavy is usually curled and is tied back at the base of her neck when she is on duty.

Gilah eschews typical Klingon dress, never wearing anything armoured and instead is most commonly seen wearing dark leggings, smart black or brown boots, a vest and one of an assortment of leather jackets. She has also been known to wear dresses for black-tie events and is regularly seen in a sports-bra, leggings and trainers for her main hobby of designing and conquering assault courses which show off the ridges on her back.

Gilah has a powerful presence in a room and a commanding stance whether moving or still. The ridges on her forehead are a succession of five chevrons pointing downwards towards her nose-ridges. Her dark brown eyes are keen and often brought out with a little select make up, usually mascara and unlike most Klingons has well shaped and maintained eyebrows.

She still performs her main hits, 'My Bat'leth's Always Rusty' and 'Oh, The Empire!' Occasionally when requested, accompanying herself on one of a small collection of ukuleles. She also enjoys designing, building and mastering assault courses and beauty, especially nail painting.

Personal History Gilah was born and raised on Qo'noS. She had a fairly typical childhood, although by the age of twelve she had begun to acquire a reputation as a disappointment when it came to traits typically recognised as being good in Klingons. Of the prospective paths open to her Gilah chose medicine as it was the least barbaric in her opinion.

After qualifying as a doctor in her early twenties Gilah went to work with the underprivileged and marginalised of Klingon society, making a very basic living and further cementing her reputation as being someone who was 'weak' for showing compassion. When the Klingon Empire entered the Dominion War Gilah bowed to mounting pressure and signed up to the Klingon Defence Force as a doctor. Unwilling to use her knowledge to aid the Klingons in combat she was (as ever) marginalised and assigned to an old and brittle Bird of Prey, crewed by the stupid and incompetent who were used as cannon fodder in Klingon attacks. Naturally her service only lasted a few weeks and after the ship was crippled she and a few of the surviving crew were rescued by the Federation Starship Newhaven after the first Battle of Chin'toka. A patient herself in sickbay she helped treat other survivors, both Klingon and Federation and due to her poor reputation within the Empire was granted leave to stay on Newhaven until the end of the war.

After the war ended Gilah chose not to return to the Empire, instead petitioning to join the Federation as a citizen. Due to her work on the starship Newhaven her application was quickly accepted and she elected to join Starfleet via a short course at Starfleet Academy for qualified doctors joining the service.

After the Academy Gilah was posted back to the starship Newhaven for a few months a junior doctor before moving to Starbase 43 where she specialised as a trauma surgeon and moved through the ranks to become Assistant Chief Medical Officer.
