Personality & Traits
| General Overview | As an officer Corsa maintains the rigid discipline ingrained into him from his military career. He follows orders to the letter and never speaks out of turn or offers an opinion when not warranted. He takes a certain amount of pride at his work to the point that if a mistake is made, no matter how slight Corsa will pour over logs and spend hours on simulations ensuring it doesn't happen again. However at the moment of his shift ending the typical Traxi nature begins to show through. Outgoing and friendly he enjoys spending time with members of both the officers and enlisted crew either simply conversing or exploring new hobbies. Corsa dislikes selfish behaviour on an extreme scale believing that it is the duty of the crewman, however high or low, to lay down their life for the ship and the service should the need arise. That the many should be served by the few rather than the other way around. |

| Personal History | Born to a military couple on the frozen world of Talana, Corsa's childhood was steeped in military discipline and regimentation from his primary education to his home life. He was taught to set and adhere to high standards of excellence as well as learning about devotion to ones community and family. At the age of sixteen he was eligible to begin military service and choose the Royal Traxian Fleet; applying for flight operations after passing the rigorous entrance exam. Given the natural Traxi independence and trail-blazing nature the officer candidate school training was brutal both physically and mentally to bring any wayward Midshipmen (Cadets) into line. There he learned about conventional naval tactics, foot drill, personal combat and leadership as well as his chosen vocation. Every day Corsa practised and prepared himself for daily flight training and drills. While naval training typically takes two years to complete an old rival stirred. The Breen and the Traxi have been to war and had numerous border skirmishes for centuries. However in 2375 when the Breen joined the Dominion they became emboldened and launched an invasion into the smaller galactic power. The speed of the enemy thrust and early victories had rallied the Traxi to a stalwart defence and all cadets were sent to the front to bolster dwindling numbers; Corsa among them. He was assigned to the RTS Draca as a flight officer, piloting the destroyer in fleet actions against the Breen to hold back the enemy from the core worlds. The Traxian high command issued the order possibly responsible for them pushing the Breen back to their borders; no quarter to disabled ships or surrendered troops is to be given. If the Breen were not going to leave their territory of their own volition then they would not leave at all. Facing superior enemy forces the Draca and other ships of the Royal Traxian Fleet fought an embittered battle of push and retreat for three years; even after the Dominion War's end. During operations designed to take back invaded colonies the Draca was being chased during one of the battles by two Breen cruisers. At the orders of his captain, Corsa managed to slip the smaller, more agile frigate between the cruisers and out of their arcs of fire allowing the Traxian ship to disable then subsequently destroy the defenceless enemy vessels. His skill and keeping the Breen off guard had earned Corsa a battlefield commission to Ensign. It was at the tail end of 2378 that the Breen would give up their plans to expand their territory. In 2383 the Traxian Kingdom was admitted into the Federation and thus access to the Starfleet recruitment program was opened up to Traxians. Keen to leave to explore the galaxy at large Corsa resigned his commission with honours and applied for the Starfleet Academy in 2384 where his prior experience in flight operations and combat experience from the Traxian-Breen conflict allowed him to excel in his classes. After the four years of being a cadet he was granted a commission and posted towards the USS Berlin to begin his new career before finally he climbed the ranks and ended up at the illustrious USS Triumphant. |

I know player created races can be accepted but obviously it comes with a CO tick and figured it would help you make an informed choice!) The Traxians are a people located near Breen space spanning over several systems known as the Traxian Kingdom. When compared to humans as a baseline the Traxians are taller and above average in strength to match that of a Klingon warrior. However there isn’t anything else remarkable about their anatomy or physiology beyond their increased muscle fiber. Their eyesight and hearing range is comparable to that of humans and they have no advanced healing factor. What will often set them apart from the crowd is their loud and gregarious nature, independent spirit and utmost loyalty to their families, homeworlds and kingdom. Traxians are known to be one of the most outgoing species in the Alpha quadrant and it isn’t unknown for visitors to their space to be warmly welcomed; after clearing customs and inspection from a heavily armed cruiser. They take life to the fullest and enjoy learning and adapting from other cultures such as the thrill of haggling with a Ferengi to crews indulging in close quarters battle with Klingon raiders. Each planet marks a certain nature upon those that live upon it as well as sets some standard for their nature and disposition. For example a Traxian from the jungle world of Iskur which is riddled with deadly predators and poisonous plants will often hold a ‘survival of the fittest’ mentality and have a reputation among their people for being hardy and dependable. Military service is highly respected and compulsory service is enforced by law for up to four years for those who are eligible and thus the society is considered by their neighbours to be highly militarised given how glorified military duty is touted within the Kingdom. It’s not uncommon for Breen pirates to be harassed back to their borders by brazen Traxian commanders looking to score a kill and dissuade renegades from preying on the weak. Within the galaxy Traxi are also known to hire themselves out as mercenaries for warbands or private civilian ships given their military training and experience as well as offering their education and technical skills for science labs and engineering firms. Due to their new status as a Federation member species and thus eligible for enlistment within Starfleet the Traxians are most often found within the Marine Corps and Starfighter division as the non-military rhetoric of Starfleet itself tends to irk the service-before-self attitude they possess. It has been noted by both Fighter Corps and SFMC commanders that their Traxi subordinates are often the first to throw themselves into harm’s way or volunteer for the most dangerous assignments with a discomforting cheerfulness. However some Traxi do seek careers in other less combat orientated divisions and work diligently when on duty and have been known to be one of the lives and souls of the mess hall parties when off duty. |
