Yet Another Day

Posted on Mon Mar 13, 2017 @ 9:55pm by Lieutenant Colonel S'er'in'e

Mission: An Orion to Die For
Location: Slave Market in Kelshaak
Timeline: 1100Hrs - MD4

Captain S'er'in'e was on a Special Operations assignment with a team of six others, everything seemed to be going to plan until the shuttle they were in was caught in an ion storm. The shuttle disabled it drifted for an unknown time, a time S'er'in'e had trouble remembering.

He remembered running through the plan of rescue with his team and everything seemed set to go, they were just running final equipment checks when everything went wrong. The contact they were supposed to extract, probably dead by now.

Next thing he knew he was waking up in a dank, foul smelling room with basic bandages but none of the rest of his team. He later found out he was the only survivor, he was alone, who knows where with no uniform, badge or anything to aid an escape. The usual questions were asked but the presence of Orions told him he was in very unfriendly territory. Orions didn't like Starfleet one bit and here he was, with no escape. All he could do was hope, and buy time.

They tried to sell him many times but he put an end to that plan quickly, moving about would make locating and rescue hard, if he stayed in one place, caused just enough fuss for word to get out, rescue might come.

** Present Day **

Yet another day in this filthy stinking hole S'er'in'e find himself caged in. After a while the random shocks from the collar became a standard thing, a guard would pass by and press the button for the fun of it. The meals were terrible, tasted bad and who knew what was in it but S'er'in'e had to eat it to keep what strength he could. They learned quickly to muzzle S'er'in'e after an incident involving him biting someone, they put metal guards on his hands to prevent him clawing anyone. The shock collar was linked to the floor by a chain. His range of movement was limited, it was clear to everyone by his appearance he was a threat to everyone. It could explain why he was here for so long. At the end of trading he'd be walked like a pet to the cells out back where he would sleep and anything else he needed to do.

As shameful as it was S'er'in'e knew these measures were probably keeping him alive. Even though the dishonour as a Caitian at being captured, being treated like a pet day in and day out for the amusement of others, staying alive was more important. When the days of him not selling passed he became the novelty item, now they charged to shock him, feed him but never came close enough to pet.

S'er'in'e knew however that he could not keep this up forever, sooner or later they would tire of him and kill him or make him fight in which given his state and condition against a full grown, healthy Orion male, he'd lose.

He watched as people walked passed and glared at them, if he made himself unwanted they might just leave him alone. He couldn't appear to be sleeping too even though his body wanted it otherwise the shock collar would rouse him harshly.

Soon trading time would be over and he'd be walked back to his cell for the night.
