Spencer walked through the door to the Ready Room and grinned at the man settled behind the desk. When the door closed, she leaned back against it and had a certain twinkle in her eye. "Computer... lock the ready room door," she ordered, bringing her hands to the belt of the overcoat she was wearing. "As a matter of fact... cut all communications off for the next hour."
=^=Lieutenant Rho to Captain Aravan. We are experiencing computer problems on Deck Forty-Four with the Intel computers. Protocol is being followed ensure the security of our intelligence."
=^=Acknowledged,=^= Michael responded a minute later. =^=It seems that every deck and department is having issues now. There will be a briefing as soon as possible.=^=
If there was a response, it was cut off by Spencer ordered that all communications be cut off for a half an hour and Michael blinked in surprise at the order, but smiled when he saw Spencer in an overcoat. "Uh, hey," he said as he tapped his combadge again. "Give me just a minute. Computer, reactivate communications."
"You're really going to make me wait, Mikey?" Spencer purred as her hands untied the belt around her waist. She made quick work of the buttons, then parted it to reveal that there was nothing being worn underneath it. It wasn't long before she let it pool down to her black heeled feet. "I want your attention right now. All of it."
"I think he got my message," Michael said, his voice trailing off as she opened the coat and saw what she wasn't wearing under it. "Uh...you have it," he said as he swallowed. Whatever was going on in Intel, Rho had told him that protocol was being followed and that was good enough.
"That's what I thought," she said with a smile as she made her way toward his desk. "It's just you and me now... no one else matters. Not for the next hour."
"What brought this on?" he asked her as he watched her. "I mean, not that I mind. There's some strange things going on right now."
"There are?" Spencer asked as she came to settle down on his desk in front of him. "I hadn't noticed it. What's been going on?"
"Strange computer errors, music playing....some joker must be playing around," Michael said as his thoughts trailed off as he looked at her again. "It's no big deal...." He reached up to part the neck of his uniform jacket and began to remove it.
His wife grinned and leaned forward to kiss him rather roughly, then bit down on his bottom lip while her hands moved to help aid him of the removal of his jacket. She knew exactly what it was she wanted and planned to get it one way or another. "I didn't notice anything odd going on," she said, smoothing her hands over his chest.
Michael grunted in surprise in roughness and brought a hand up to touch his lip and looked at the spot of blood on his finger, which brought his mind more into focus. "Where's the kids, honey?" he asked her.
"Safe," was all she said before she went for the hem of his red shirt and began to lift it. "No more talking. It's time to get down to business."
He moved his hand to hers to hold it in place. "Where is safe, Spencer?" he asked her. It wasn't like her to say something like that when the kids were concerned as she usually let him know exactly where they were.
Spencer looked to his hand holding hers in place before turning her blue eyed gaze back to him. "Why are you asking me like that?" she questioned, pulling her hands from his. "Do you not trust my ability to keep the kids safe?" Anger was beginning to brew inside of her. "You don't, do you? You never have!"
"Are you okay?" Michael asked her with concern in his voice. "You know I trust you where the kids are concerned. I just asked where they were." Now the part of his mind that kept him safe when he was Security began to tingle and he pulled his uniform tunic down.
"What are you doing?" the former Executive Officer demanded when he pulled his shirt down. That wasn't what she wanted. In fact, she reached out to grab his tunic again and pulled until the red material began to tear up the middle. "I came to pay you a special visit, and this is how you act? How is this fair to me?"
He was surprised to find his wife who weighed considerable less than him suddenly yank him out of his seat by the front of his uniform and even more surprised when the front of his tunic started to rip. These were supposed to be the armored variant, he thought before he brought his hands inside of her arms and pushed out to the side in a firm but gentle motion. "Spencer! What are you doing?"
"Taking what's mine since you won't give it willingly," she snapped as she settled him on top of his desk before moving to straddle him. "You... all of you... is mine, and I should be able to have it when I want it."
Michael rolled to the left off of the desk when she moved to settle him on the desk before she could straddle him and came to his feet in one move. He backed off and looked at her. "Spencer Alexandra Aravan! What's gotten into you? Computer, release door locks and activate communications, authorization Aravan Omega Nine One Seven Tango!"
"Unable to comply, Captain," Spencer said with a twisted smile as she launched herself at him.
"What?" he asked in disbelief as he put a hand on the conference table and vaulted over it to the other side to get away from her. He tapped his combadge. =^=Security to the Ready room=^= he called out but didn't hear the chirp of activation. "End program!" he called out.
"Unable to comply," she said with a sneer as she moved toward the conference table. Each step she took seemed to take a lifetime. "How does it feel to know that countless men on your very crew do unspeakable things to me, Michael? Every single day. Passed around and used like a tissue."
"What are you talking about, Spencer or whatever you are?" Michael asked as he moved around to the coffee stand where he kept a Type II phaser hidden. "Who uses you? Why didn't you say anything before this?"
"Would it have mattered?" Spencer asked as a forcefield erected around the coffee stand. "You wouldn't have cared. You use me for the same purpose, don't you?"
"You know I don't," he said as he saw the forcefields flicker into life around the coffee stand. He moved to the left, then turned and headed for the door's emergency open hatch. "And you aren't Spencer or you wouldn't be saying these things."
"Where do you think you're going, Michael?" she asked, following him with her gaze as he moved toward the door. "You're going after her, aren't you? You're going to make sure she's okay." She screamed and grabbed the nearest object she could, then threw it at him.
Michael grunted as the PADD hit his shoulder and kneeled down to yank the hatch off of the manual override for the door. He reached inside and grabbed the handle and yanked back on it as he turned to look at her. "I am," he said. "Because she's my wife and mother of my kids and I love her, unlike the accusations you've been throwing at me."
"I can make it there much faster than you can. I'm all you'll have left. Forever." And with that, Spencer vanished from the office. It was as if she was never there in the first place except for the chaos she'd left behind in her wake.
He exited the Ready Room and called to the Security officer on duty. "Get a team to my quarters immediately," he said as he tapped his combadge again. =^=Spencer, get the kids and get to the bunker, now!=^= he said as he headed for the turbolift.
The doors to the turbolift opened just as he got to them, revealing Spencer inside. She was dressed in a pair of jeans and a blue top with a pair of brown boots on her feet. One thing was missing... her combadge. "Where are you off to in such a hurry?"
"Where were you a minute ago?" Michael asked her as the Security person looked at the Captain and his wife. "Where's the kids? Where's your combadge?"
Spencer blinked. "Honey... what's wrong with you? I just dropped the kids off with Piper and Liam for a little bit so I could bring you this." She held out a bag with The Black Hole logo on the front of it while she felt around for her combadge with a frown. "I figured you worked through lunch, so I wanted to bring you something to eat. As for my combadge, I think I forgot it back in our quarters."
"A hologram or something pretending to be you came in my ready room and threw herself at me a few minutes ago," he said quietly and explained what happened. "I honestly believed that it was going for you and was on my way to find you."
"As you can see... I'm fine, but I do think you have been working way too hard. You should come with me and take the rest of the day off. I think Maddy can handle things," she said, holding her hand out to him. "Or at least, come with me to see the kids."
"I can't," Michael said. "I wish I could but I have to call a staff briefing. Something is going wrong with the computer and I have to get to the bottom of it. "I can join you for lunch, but it'll have to be a quick one. I don't know what else is going wrong in other areas."
"It's okay, Mikey. Your duty to the ship and crew has to come first, and if there are things like you're saying going on, that needs your attention," she said, leaning forward to press a kiss to his cheek. The last thing Spencer wanted to do was to take him from important matters. "The kids and I will see you when you're able to get home. No arguments. I love you." With that, she stepped back onto the turbolift and requested deck ten.
Taking the lunch, he gave her a kiss and leaned in to whisper his love for her, but with his left hand, he placed two fingers on the inside of her wrist and tapped twice before he winked at her. It was a old code that spoke of the love that he had for her and to let her know that his heart would always be one with hers.
Spencer smiled at him as the doors closed. With him as the ship's Captain, everything was going to be okay, and since there was something wrong, it was her job to keep their children safe.
When the doors closed, Michael tapped his combadge. =^=All senior staff report to the ready room. Aravan out.=^=
