Mission:
Strange Matter
Location: MCO's Office
Timeline: MD32 : 12.01Hrs
Having escorted S'er'in'e to Sickbay leaving Kasia to report for duty in his stead the following operation went by flawlessly. For the first time since it happened he saw light as it started very dim and slowly brightened. Tests and diagnostics all went without a hitch and it took a little effect to work through the various functions. Once discharged he returned home to shower to remove the sterile scent from him and the scents of others such as the Doctor having touched him.
It was going to take a while for him to become fully used to all the functions at what his new eyes could do but he was most importantly glad that he could see again. Kasia had been a pillar of stone for him to draw strength from, he knew that without her things may have been looking far more grim than how it turned out. Taking care to groom himself properly, claws to clean and sharpen since they had not been done since the mission and his fangs to tend to.
Once done he dressed in his best fitting uniform he left his home to where his future Mate was located. All through his ordeal the one thing she said to him that anchored him was her offer for when he was better. To claim her.
*** MCO's Office. ***
As S'er'in'e arrived at the marine deck he found some marines saluted, others gave him a cheer, others nodded at him. As he walked towards his office he had to flag down his assistant so that she didn't announce him to the Major.
His office doors opened, being his office they were bound to but for Kasia sat within the sudden opening of the doors might have been surprising. To make amends for this he stood in the doorway looking as had done that first time she saw him cleaned up and marine like following his rescue. "Kasia." He softly spoke.
Kasia was neck deep in PADDwork, so when the doors opened, she'd been preparing to tear someone a new one, but something told her to look up before doing so. When she did, she was beyond happy that she didn't begin the dressing down like she'd wanted to prior. Rising to her feet, she straightened her uniform. "Colonel, it's good to see you looking well," the Major said, offering him a smile. As she was in uniform, professionalism was warranted, so that kept her from bombarding him with hugs and kisses. "I trust that everything went well since you're here now?"
S'er'in'e stood there as he looked at her, the functions of his eyes allowing him to see things such as temperature, height and distance. "It has." A slight bow of the head as customary to females. "If it does not pose too much of an inconvenience, would you care to join me for lunch?" It was pleasing to him that his office was strong in her scent, clearly she'd been spending a lot of time here when on duty instead of out on the main floor.
"I can do that," Kasia said with another smile. It didn't take her long to secure the desk's interface before she was moving around it to stand next to him. "The Black Hole or one of our places?"
"One of our places. There is something private I'd like to talk about." S'er'in'e spoke, even this close her scent strong just as it had been when she was looking after him, sleeping next to him, touching everything leaving it everywhere. Though blind as he was it was a strong comfort.
"Absolutely," she said, gesturing for him to lead the way. "I've got more of my things at your place now than I do my own, so we can go there if you'd like to." And the Major didn't mind her things being at his place, either.
The walk to his quarters was brief, despite being his home he allowed her to enter first and he followed. "I....wanted to thank you, for what you did for me while I was injured." S'er'in'e had to remember that Kasia said if this was to work then it would have to be as equals, some cultural elements were acceptable but equals in majority.
It was obvious that there was more to say. "You know Caitans are a prideful race, while I was injured you were there for me, helped me, even fed me." A small smile on his face as he remembered her feeding him in Sickbay. "Aside from your presence, your scent, there was one thing you said to me which I clung to."
For him this was not as small as a kiss, or a hug, to him it was life his linked to hers. He was bonding to her, she loved him but she said something to him that he held on to tightly using it as motivation to keep going through the shame of his injury. "You....Y..." S'er'in'e growled, frustrated that now even words were failing him.
She did know that Caitians were a prideful race, and that certain things were going to be hard to overcome, but that's why the Russian woman was going to help him along the way. A smile formed on her lips as she stood there and listened to him. It wasn't a smile that was meant to be mocking, but one that meant she understood what he was trying to say to her. What she did for him... it was something anyone would do for a person they loved. "S'er'in'e... you don't have to thank me for any of that," she began softly. "You needed me, and I wanted to be there for you any way that I could be. This was something you weren't going to go through alone."
Kasia reached out to slip her hand into his. "I didn't want you to be alone... to feel as though you didn't matter enough or feel as though you didn't matter. You do matter. Especially to me," she said softly. "I told you I love you, and it's the truth. I do love you, and I always will."
It was hard for him to ask, teaching and upbringing battled with him the instant he thought of it but he fought it with what she said, she gave him permission, the female offered. "Can...." A pause, brief but oh so important to the moment. "Can I.....claim....you." His features softened as he listened to himself speak and the seriousness of what hes said. While only 4 words it would change his life in ways he'd not thought of but that life much linking it to hers.
Not only was this something that would change his life forever, but it was something that would change her own. No longer would she be a single woman, living the single life, but she'd be the mate of a Caitian... part of a couple... living with another being for the rest of her days. It was a lot to take in, but something she was ready for.
Kasia nodded her head and swallowed back a lump of emotion in her throat, somehow managing to speak a single word that would bring change forth. "Yes," she whispered, fighting back a wave of emotion and doing what she could to hold it together. Around the Marines, the Major was tough as nails because she needed to be, but behind closed doors, she was nothing more than a woman. A woman who experienced the things any woman did, and that included emotions. They didn't make her weak. Not even a little bit. They made her human.
A wave of relief but it was not over yet. He took a step towards her looking down at her. "I am sorry if I hurt you." He would try not to but his teeth were sharp. His hand rose to the back of her head and gently pulled on her hair to expose her neck, lifting her chin for him. His other hand went to the base of her back holding her to him as his nose found her neck. A deep breath in as his hand held her hair firmly back, not to the point of painful, but firm.
Next came the dangerous part. She had seen what he could do with those teeth and now he would use them for another purpose. A low rolling growl as he parted his lips, opened his jaws and gently placed her neck between them. There was a little pressure, nothing to cause discomfort but enough that she could feel almost every tooth and fang he had. His lips sealed around his mouth as he held that pose and grip for almost a minute.
Her breath caught in her throat as his teeth and fangs rested against the skin of her neck, but there was no fear coming from her. She knew what was coming next thanks to the reading she'd done some weeks back. Now, it was just a matter of moving forward with the proper claiming that was about to take place, followed by a trip to sickbay.
Oh, Kasia knew this was likely to be quite painful, but she'd experienced pain before in her lifetime. She braced her hands against his chest and closed her eyes, bracing herself for what was to come at any moment, and since this would be the only time S'er'in'e was going to be laying his claim to anyone, the Russian woman chose not to rush him. It needed to be memorable for him... special... and no matter how nervous she was, she didn't want to ruin it for him.
His eyes closed, his breathing deep as he did exactly what his mind told him to. When satisfied all was as it should be S'er'in'e slowly freed her. Her neck while not overly wet, was wet as his scent remained. His saliva would dry in minutes but she was his now and most importantly. "My Mate." So happy in that moment S'er'in'e purred and loudly, so much so that he almost rumbled it as he held her to him.
Kasia shivered against him, but the pain she'd been expecting never came. Her eyes drifted open, and she pulled back just slightly to look up at him. Still, there was no fear coming from her. "It didn't hurt," she commented softly, though, there was an unmistakable smile on her face.
"It doesn't." He took her hands in his own to the back of his neck where the lock to his collar was. Extending his claws so they fit into the lock it came apart, the ease of pressure instantly felt before his pulled his hands away leaving her to remove it. "That comes later."
"Oooh. I remember reading that now," Kasia said as the meaning behind his words dawned on her. She carefully reached up and removed the collar from around his neck, though, she didn't put it down just yet. Without hesitation, she did what he did, only for her it was a different experience given his fur.
Once satisfied tradition had been done he stood upright again and looked down at Kasia. "It is done." He paused briefly. "I do however have something for you."
He walked into the bedroom and from storage he pulled out a box, similar to the one his Mother had showed her. "I have cleared it with the Captain, you are permitted to wear this for every day duty with uniform, though obviously not deployments." He set the box on the table and opened it, the headpiece within.
Kasia looked at the headpiece inside of the box and carefully reached inside to lift it out. It was absolutely gorgeous, and couldn't believe that it was hers. A large part of her was grateful she wouldn't be allowed to wear it on deployments. The risk of it being damaged would increase greatly, and the Major didn't want that. "It's beautiful. Will you help me put it on?"
S'er'in'e gently arranged her hair so it was down and free flowing then ever so gently took the piece from her hands and placed it upon her brow. There was a striking beauty of the piece combined with her blonde hair, the stones and metal pieces shined brightly from the contrast. The intricate metal stones adorning the centre of it all hung gentle in the middle of her forehead, the whole piece comfortably light in weight.
"How does it look?" She asked softly once he placed it on too of her head?
"It, as you." He took a step back to admire the view. "Are beautiful." A smile on his face as before him stood, his Mate.
Kasia smiled as a blush crept up her cheeks. "Thank you," she said softly. It didn't take long for her to find her way to the bathroom to admire the head piece, and she found that the word beautiful was an understatement. Gorgeous was a more fitting description.
S'er'in'e was glad she liked it, it was the right size, surprisingly light and exceptionally decorated. There was no hiding it especially against her blond hair so it did make him wonder the questions she might be asked. At least the Commodore was willing to permit the headpiece, he understood the risks the gloves presented though he'd still make them for her in due time. He waited silently, patiently for her to return from her own appraisal.
Kasia returned with a smile. "It really is beautiful. I've never owned anything quite like this before."
S'er'in'e stood as he watched her, such beauty, such tranquillity, a grace about her to rival even the Guardians that protect the Pri'arch on the Homeworld and yet with this, most importantly, she was his Mate. His time alone was over, his life now shared and bound to another and it for him was impossible to describe to do it justice. "Now you do, my Mate." Just saying the word filled him with a new pride, a warmth that he wanted to share, a fulfilment that would take some time to explain.
"Say it again?" Kasia requested softly as she closed the distance between the two of them.
S'er'in'e remembered the last time she asked him to repeat something, her name. So he did. "Now you do, my Mate." He tapped his badge and then her own to turn them off and repeated it again and this time there was nothing to translate the Caitian purrs and sounds he made.
Kasia couldn't help but smile. While that was going to take some getting used to, she would never get tired of hearing it. "I really like the way that sounds."
