Posted on Wed Jan 24, 2018 @ 7:38pm by Commodore Michael Aravan & Lieutenant Sarish-Illiana Luvol

Mission: Falling Star
Location: Medical
Timeline: MD 32 || 1045 Hours

When the turbolift deposited him on Deck Seven, Michael took a moment to orient himself with a wall display that listed all the various offices and labs on the floor. It took a moment to location the Chief of Medical's office and he headed that way with his long legged stride.

It was a few minutes before the Commodore entered the proper corridor and located the office where he reached out to press the chime.

Sarish had been busy getting ready for the inspection that Aravan had planned and she was just finishing reports when the door chimed. "Computer, 2 coffees hot, one with milk and 2 sugars and one straight up," she said. "Enter, she added and stood at the door with the coffee for the Commodore.

Michael entered the high tech office and took note of the various holograms displayed for various patients as they cycled through different screens and diagnostics. He smiled when he saw the Chief Medical Officer with two mugs of coffee and tilted his head. "It's not that bad," he joked. "I've had two cup days, but not this early, Doctor."

"I have learnt to have coffee at the ready, never know how good a day or bad a day, you have had," Sarish replied. "Off duty, have alot of good scotch ready." Handing the coffee over.

He accepted the coffee and took a sip, pleased to see she knew what he took. "Is Medical ready for what's ahead of us?" he asked. "We're still bringing over supplies from Deep Space Ten, so if you have any special requests, now's the time."

"Supplies are all in order and stocked up. I am getting more temporary beds brought in to cover the Romulan personnel and our personnel. I will keep them as separate as I can to help with contamination."

Michael nodded. "I'm glad to see that you have everything in order. I expect Ambassador Caenala will prove beneficial in obtaining a sample of the agent which the Romulan Republic used. Are you up to date on Romulan physiology?"

"My bedtime reading tonight, Commodore." she replied with a smile.

"In a little over twelve hours, we're going to be entering Romulan space," he told her. "That means you'll have to get very familiar with them. Until then, sleep will have to be a dream."

"Sleep?? What's that?" she replied sarcastically.

"That thing that people with nothing to do seem to enjoy," Michael said as he took another drink of coffee. "Do you have any concerns about Security when we start bringing Romulans aboard to treat?"

"You might want security for them when they meet sleep-deprived cranky Chief Medical Officer," said Sarish. "I will not be nice if they piss me off. As for generally, I don't have any problems."

"No being mean to Romulans that actually don't want to be part of the former Romulan Empire in the form of the Romulan Republic," the Commodore told her. "If you start to feel cranky, get some more coffee or let your team of Doctors and nurses take over for a while."

"I'd do the same to the Romulan Empirians, not just the Romulan Republicans, if they stepped out of line but understood," said Sarish.

"Well, right now, it's just citizens of the Independent Romulan Systems Allied Forces," Michael responded as he finished his coffee. "Innocent people who have been attacked, hurt and killed."

"I know, and I'll be working to make them feel comfortable and not so scared, especially the children," said Sarish.

"Good. I can't ask for anything more than the cure," he said. "Lieutenant Tetanal in Science will be working closely with you on this."

"Understood."

"Then I'll leave you to it, Doctor Luvol," Michael said as he put the empty mug in the recycler and watched it dematerialize in a swirl of colors. "Have a good day," he said as he headed out for the next department.
