Mission:
An Oceanic Shoreleave
Location: Pacifica
Timeline: MR 39 || 1500 Hours
Kasia walked along the shore of one of Pacifica's few beaches, letting the waves lap at her feet as she went. This was definitely different than what her normal life consisted of... a life of living in a uniform and dedicating her life to duty. Now, though, dressed in a blue floral sundress, she felt a bit out of sorts with herself. Although the Major was uncomfortable wearing her current attire, being in uniform would make her stick out worse than a sore thumb. And, not only that, the heat would do her in before she knew it. She just needed to relax, and that was exactly what she planned to do while on the surface. Sock up some sun, relax and spend time with the Caitian man that would soon be her husband.
S'er'in'e walked with his Mate clad in a loose two piece gown set, it would afford him all the range of mobility he could possibly need and yet keep him cool under the sun. As the water washed about his feet keeping his tail lifted so it too didn't get wet he felt his feel sink into the sand slightly with each step. It was not uncomfortable or unpleasant, just different to the norm of carpet and solid floor.
Since they had arrived S'er'in'e had thought much on the upcoming wedding, details that had to be worked out, invitations, colours and information passed on. He was sure with little doubt the Elder would be displeased at this turn of events however his life belonged to Kasia, her happiness was more important than someone else trying to control his life for the betterment of the Caste. "You have been quiet, is everything alright my Mate?"
"Just thinking," she replied, looking up to him with one of her patented bright smiles. "We need to talk to Commodore Aravan and see if he'll be willing to marry us. It's been weighing on my mind since he could say no, and I'm a bit worried he might."
"Why do you think he would do so?" S'er'in'e asked. "As I understand it, most Captains consider it a privilege to marry those under his or her command." He didn't like her worrying, though could hardly blame her, he had worries of his own.
"He probably wouldn't say no, but he is on vacation with his wife and family, and it's no secret to anyone he doesn't get much time with them. That's why I think there could be a possibility he would say no," Kasia replied. "Though, there's always plan B. If he isn't able to, we can always ask Captain Weisz. Given her rank, she's allowed to legally perform wedding ceremonies now."
"Then at least we have options." S'er'in'e was confident that one would be willing to perform the ceremony. "I understand that Humans place significant importance on attire, as this is a custom belonging to you, would you wish me to wear something suiting to the custom or something of Caitian design?"
"I really want you to wear whatever is most comfortable for you," the Russian woman replied. Sure, he was all about her happiness, but Kasia was all about him also. "I can't imagine you'd be too comfortable in a tux. You could wear your free uniform if you wished to."
"I have never worn a tux." He knew of the attire having seen them before at other gatherings and formal social events. He wondered what he would look like considering he was over 7 feet tall and broader at the shoulder than nearly all. He thought about it, large white feline in black, Human clothing over his own traditional garb. He couldn't help but smile at the thought, storing the idea for later. "If I wore my uniform I think you would take considerable pleasure removing it." He spoke. "I'm told I look handsome, regal, breathtaking in it." Quoting some of the words she had used in the past to describe him.
Kasia smiled. "And you do, but I'd still like for you to wear whatever makes you comfortable."
"As you wish." The tux idea was an interesting one, if he could get one made in time for the ceremony knowing full well it would be a custom order as he strongly doubted they kept outfits suited to those of his size to hand. "When should we see the Commodore or Captain?"
Kasia looked thoughtful for a few moments. "Well... there's no time like the present," she told him, reaching up to two her combadge. Was the device needed? Not necessarily, but it was definitely safe to have just in case. However, she didn't know if everyone would think the same way she did. =^=Petrova to Aravan... I was wondering if you might have a few moments to speak with me and S'er'in'e?=^=
At the resort where Michael was with the kids and his wife, he winced as he heard the Marine XO's voice come over the combadge that he was forced to take everywhere. He seriously hoped it wasn't something important, but tapped it. =^=Aravan here. What's the problem, Major?=^= he queried politely.
=^=No problem, Commodore. This is actually personal in nature.=^= the Major stated. The nerves began to increase as she spoke, waiting for him to deny her request to speak to them, but she had to try. =^=Your wife and children are more than welcome to join you if you wish.=^=
=^=Join you?=^= Michael questioned and heard the nervousness in her voice. =^=Are you on Pacifica?=^=
What kind of question was that? If course she was on Pacifica. =^=S'er'in'e and I are both on the planet.=^= she confirmed for him. =^=We're walking along the beach right now soaking up a little sun. This is where we would like you and your family to join us so we can talk. It shouldn't take long if you have time.=^=
=^=Could you be a bit more specific, Major? Pacifica is a pretty big planet with lots of beaches.=^= Michael responded.
Kasia knew he didn't realize they were staying in the same resort. =^=The beach outside your resort, Commodore. We're staying in the same one, but our suite is on the top floor. We were on our way up when you and your family came in.=^=
=^=I'll be out in a few minutes. Aravan out.=^= He tapped his combadge and got to his feet. "Spencer, Major Petrova wants to see me on the beach. Do you and the kids want to come?"
Spencer nodded her head. "Let me get the kids ready, then we'll meet you out there."
"Okay," Michael said before he headed out to see the Major and determine why she was nervous. The former Security officer in him tried to pump him full of adrenaline, but the commanding officer countered it with logic. If there were actual trouble, he knew the Marine could handle herself and if it were something else that no one could handle, then it had to be something only he could do for her.
Outside, he looked around the beach until he spotted the blonde Marine standing next to the Caitian that was his Marine Commander and approached them. "Major, Colonel," he inclined his head towards them as he approached.
S'er'in'e was admiring the beach view and the ocean that spanned as far as he could see while his Mate spoke with the Commodore. The water washed about his feet letting his feet sink into the sand as the wave retreated. When he heard a familiar voice he turned. "Commodore." He greeted.
Like S'er'in'e, Kasia was enjoying the gorgeous view, only stopping when she heard Michael speak. "Commodore," she greeted him with a smile. "I do apologize for intruding on your vacation, but S'er'in'e and I have decided to get married while we're on shore leave, and we would be honored if you would perform the ceremony." There was no sense in beating around the proverbial bush.
"Married?" Michael echoed. "Here and now?"
"Yes, married," she echoed. "We do want to do it here in Pacifica, but not right now. We still have a few things we need to plan before it can be done, but we wanted to an you if you would be willing to do the ceremony for us."
"I would be honored," the Commodore said. "Will it be just the two of you or something more formal?"
Kasia looked toward S'er'in'e, then back to Michael. "I think we would like to invite a few people," she replied. " Your wife and children for sure. What do you think?" She looked back toward the Caitian.
"I understand for Human weddings that something small can be considered tranquil, intimate, amongst the closest of friends and family." S'er'in'e replied hoping he was using the chosen words correctly and in the right context. "It would be very suited for us."
"Small, yes, but there will be a few guests," she said.
"Just let me know when and where and I'll be there," Michael said.
"As soon as we know, we'll definitely let you know," Kasia assured him. "Thank you so much, Commodore."
"You're welcome," Michael replied. "And I'll keep this between us for the time being, unless you don't mind if I invite Spencer and the kids."
"Thank you, Commodore, we appreciate that," Kasia stated. "For now, S'er'in'e and I have some planning to do, but we'll be in touch soon."
"See you then." With a nod and a smile, Michael headed back to the resort.
Kasia turned toward S'er'in'e with a smile a mile wide. "It looks like we have our officiant. Now, we just need to get things planned the way we want them. Shall we get started?"
"Yes, lets." S'er'in'e was not sure exactly of the preparations for a Human wedding, though suspected it was no small tasking or ordeal that lay ahead of them. "What is first?" He asked her.
"Let's go back to our suite and we can get started. Your input is important to me since it's your day just as much as mine is."
"As you wish my Mate." S'er'in'e grinned, or as close to what could be viewed as a grin from a Caitian with the tips of his fangs showing.
