Mission:
An Orion to Die For
Location: Victorious
Timeline: MD 3 || 1330 Hours
Maddy moved onto the bridge of the Victorious and awaited the arrival of her crew. The odds were against the Triumphant, but by bringing the other ship into the equation, the ante was increased greatly. The Commander would do whatever she needed to to see that they won this battle. Even if it meant not returning to the very ship she'd called home for more than a year.
Life in space was uncertain... especially in times such as these.
The fact that they were going after one of Starfleet's top ten most wanted meant this wasn't going to be a walk in the park. They were going to have to fight to get what they wanted, and that was exactly what she planned to do. There was a Galor class vessel hot on the heels of the Triumphant, and that was going to be their first target. Once that threat was abolished, they'd join in the battle with the last two ships.
As ordered Ensign Elizabeth Alexander arrived aboard the Victorious and headed up to the bridge. Once there she headed for the Tactical console and looked over at Maddy to report everything was ready to go when she was.
"Tactical is ready when you are Commander" Elizabeth reported.
"I have a feeling you're going to be busy, Miss Alexander," Maddy said, making her way to the center chair to settle down.
Ensign sh'Paveress arrived to take her station. "Operations at the ready," the Andorian reported. "Shields and primary systems are at full power."
Lieutenant JG Ishrora Zh'eqaotrar, a young Andorian thaan came aboard and went to the helm and began the preflight check. "All systems are ready, Commander," she said.
Maddy nodded her head in acknowledgement and mentally prepared herself for what was to come. She never planned to go any higher up the command chain then where she was now. "Acknowledged, Lieutenant."
===Engineering Deck===
Lt. Kawalski arrived onto the Victorious at a trot, making his way to the Engineering deck. With the 3 other crewman they confirmed that all power systems were ready to be activated in 90 seconds. Michel figured that was pretty good timing. He wasn't sure if it was for its CO however.
Kawalski activated the comm button as he stood at the master Engineering console, "Engineering to Bridge. Impulse and warp power are available, at your command."
=^= Acknowledged, Lieutenant. Make sure to keep my ship running. =^= the redheaded woman said, as she studied those around her.
"Yes Sir," came the respectful reply from Kawalski. He closed the comm then looked at the others in Engineering, "All right boys. It's time to put your game face on."

Lieutenant Dalton McNamara from Science and a female Bolian Ensign in Medical teal entered the ship and went to their stations.
Now that everyone she'd called to join her on this excursion had arrived, and with Xylia standing on the bridge, Maddy took a deep breath. "Red alert... engage warp the second we're clear of the ship. Ready weapons and raise shields. We've got a ship to intercept."
"The ship has dropped out of warp," Zh'eqaotrar reported from the helm. "Clamps disengaged." She urged the Victorious back and away from the Triumphant and swung it in a one hundred and eighty degree turn and headed away from the massive ship before she engaged warp.
===Engineering Deck===
Lt. Kawalski watched as the warp core came to life before him. He looked down as the systems display and confirmed that all secondary systems were active and operational. A smile came across his face as an excitement bubbled a bit in his stomach. He spoke sweetly to the controls, "I'm gonna take very good care of you. How about if I call you . . Emily?"

Elizabeth sat at the Tactical console and ensured they were ready to engage the enemy ship they were following. Martha had taught her well so far and Elizabeth was looking forward to putting those lessons into practice - even if it had only been three days worth of them.
McNamara looked up from the Science station. "The ship is closing to firing range, Commander," he said as Zh'eqaotrar maneuvered the Victorious towards the coming Galor class. "Range is six hundred thousand kilometers and closing."
"Let's see how we're received. If it's not positive, then fire at will," Maddy ordered, looking toward the viewscreen in front of her. She had a feeling they weren't going to be welcomed with open arms, but rather than just jump in with their proverbial guns blazing, it was best to see what they planned to do first.
"We're being hailed," McNamara said as he looked back at the Commander.
"On screen," the Commander ordered.
"Aye, Commander," said the Andorian. A single tap of a flashing orange button immediately replaced the image of the Galor class ship on the viewscreen with that of the individual who was hailing them.
"This is Commander Del Ruth of the Shivate," came a male voice. "You are in Orion space and are ordered to leave immediately. You have no jurisdiction here. Leave or we will exterminate you."
Maddy cocked her head to the side. "You fired upon our ship, Commander, and have no business interfering in the pursuit of a wanted individual. Cease and desist, and we will go easy one you. Failure to comply will result in retaliation," she said.
"You were warned," Del Ruth said before "Prepare to fire" came over the channel before it was closed and the Galor class ship brought its four disruptor cannons to bear on the Victorious and unleashed a barrage of fire.
"Report!" the Commander ordered. "Return fire! Show them they've chosen to mess with the wrong crew."
===Engineering Deck===
The ship shook violently. Kawalski watched the readouts intently. He knew the shields were definitely getting a beating. He called out to his three engineers, "We're likely to loose some cooling pressure. Stay on top of the shielding in those areas. Be ready to switch to back up systems."
===Bridge===
Elizabeth targeted the Galor-class starship's weapons and began to fire intermittent bursts of phaser and torpedo fire - although this was going to be a tough nut to crack as the Victorious was a lot less powerful than its mother ship.
"Shields have taken a beating," announced sh'Paveress. "Starboard shields down to sixty percent, and forward shields down to sixty-three. I'm detecting overloads in the forward emitters. Cross-circuiting to secondary systems to compensate."
"Engineering... get the forward emitters back online! Now! Helm... Omega-4!" Maddy ordered. This needed to end, and it needed to end fast. "Tactical... be ready to fire all weapons!"
Engineering replied, =^=We're on it Commander.=^= Kawalski pointed to Rodriquez, "Can you handle this?" With a confirming nod, he headed off.
"Omega Four confirmed," Ensign Zh'eqaotrar said as she peeled off to port then executed a sweeping upward turn before she brought the Victorious underneath the Shivate.
Waiting for the opportune moment to strike at the most vulnerable point of the enemy vessel Elizabeth got a lock and prepared to fire. When that moment arrived Elizabeth pressed the button that would unleash everything the Victorious had.
"Firing...now" Elizabeth said.
Elizabeth fired the forward phasers on their maximum setting along with a brace of torpedoes. The phaser fire and torpedoes reached home base and the Shivate's underside exploded violently - leaving their enemy's engines and tactical systems inoperative.
"They shouldn't be giving us any more problems. I'm reading ship-wide system failures" Elizabeth reported.
=== Engineering ===
Kawalski definitely had his hands full. Failures were taking place all over Victorious. He had gravimetric plating out in several spots, 3 EPS nodes on bypass mode, the forward shield emitters still down, and over heating on a multitude of systems. The Engineer had to focus his men on the priorities; power, lifesupport, and shields.
===Bridge===
This wasn't going at all as she'd hoped, and that very fact was evident on her face as well as her tone. Maddy closed her eyes briefly, then looked toward Tactical. "Fire what's currently online so we can end this!" she snapped. The longer this took, the worse off they'd be.
Elizabeth nodded and targeting the disabled enemy ship's warp core with another pair of torpedoes she waited until they were in the best firing position and then released the two torpedoes that hit their target.
The Shivate attempted to turn away from the incoming torpedoes, but with the engines disabled, the thrusters weren't good enough. A moment later, the warp core detonated on the Galor class vessel and the ship exploded.
"Target destroyed" Elizabeth reported.
The Commander breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's go back. Repairs can be made once we've docked again."
Ensign Zh'eqaotrar immediately turned the Victorious around and laid in a course, then engaged warp. "Estimated time to arrival is ten minutes, Commander," she said.
"Damage reports are still coming in," said sh'Paveress, doing her best to settle the power allocation issues now that the battle was over. "Looks like Engineering will have its hands full for the next few days. Trying to confirm that the docking clamps are still fully functional, and I'm seeing some leakage in the port RCS thruster assemblies. Dispatching teams now."
As all the departments went to do their work, the Victorious headed back to rendezvous with the Triumphant.
