Surprise, Surprise

The Nanjing
Location: XO's Office

The readings were odd, and that was odd for someone who had borg nanoprobes in their system. =/\= "Doctor Aereen to Captain Weisz, can I speak with you." =/\=
Maddy arched a brow. She had a feeling the good doctor would be reaching out sooner or later, but the redhead expected her to contact Tom. This was definitely a surprise and meant it was showtime. "Of course, Doctor," she said, leaning back in her chair. "Meet me in my office at your earliest convenience."
Aereen confirmed and closed the channel. She gathered her pad and made her way to the XOs office. "Good afternoon ma'am, I know this is a bit unusual but given the situation I wanted to discuss this with the Master Chief next of kin, that would be you in this case. I have some concerns about Tom's readings from the biomonitor."
"Readings from the biomonitor?" Maddy asked. She wasn't really concerned on the outside, but her outward appearance told a much different story. "What have these readings indicated? Is he okay?"
"The readings are unusual, the borg nanoprobes are still inactive but I'm detecting some elevated neurological activity that indicates something is going on. I was wondering if you had any insight to what would cause these before I bring him in for another exam." The CMO replied.
"Insight?" The Captain echoed. A slow smile formed on her lips ad she leaned back in her chair. "I can offer you more than that, Lieutenant. I probably should have warned you about placing a biomonitor on Master Chief Barnes before now, but it was an oversight on my part, and for that, I must apologize. To put it bluntly, our sex life is extremely active. Those readings you were picking up on were a direct result of that. If you'd like to place one on me to compare, you'd get the same readings."
Calista smiled, "No, I don't think that will be necessary."
Maddy returned the smile. The need to keep up appearances was great. "I didn't think it would be, but you can't blame me for offering. Of course, you're still welcome to speak to Master Chief Barnes about your concerns in person, if you'd like," she said. "As a matter of fact, I was going to head to Engineering shortly to check on a few things. We can walk together if you'd like."
"That will be fine, he's due to check back in with sickbay in a few hours I'm sure that if there are still any issues we can resolve them then." The Trill said with a smile. Rising to her feet she smiled at the XO. "Thank you again, for letting me interrupt you, I'll let you get back to work."
"That would be appreciated, Lieutenant," the Captain said with a smile. It seemed that the good doctor was nosing around just a bit too much for her liking. "However, if you have a few more moments to spare, I would like to speak with you about something."
"Of course ma'am." Aereen replied.
Maddy rose to her feet after moving her fingers over the holographic display that was her desktop. It was next to impossible to see what she was doing, but the Captain was making sure the computer recordings inside her office were still suspended. "You said the nanoprobes are still inactive. Is there any possibility that they can become active? Should I be concerned for his well being?" She asked as she rose to her feet and began to move around the desk.
"It is possible, but as I said based on what we have seen of probes in this state, as well as his bio readings I am confident the risk is minimal. My research into another method of removing them is still ongoing, but admittedly at present has yet to lead to a possible treatment. Given the unusual and adverse reaction to dialysis, the transporter based treatment I suggested maybe our only course." Calista replied.
"I don't think that will be necessary, but I do appreciate you looking into the matter," the XO said, coming to stand next to the Lieutenant where she placed a hand in her shoulder. "In fact, I would appreciate it even more if you would join our cause. You would be a very welcome addition." She brought her free hand forward and toward Calista's chest as four tubes began to snake out from her palm. If that wasn't unusual enough, then perhaps her once blue eyes, now completely black, would.
The response confirmed what Calista had feared. She was able to block the tubes with a well placed blocked form her left arm. She shoved the senior officer back, as she came around for a second attempt. Hitting the ground hard the Trill made a mad dash for the door.
Maddy watched Calista hit the floor and try to get away as the tubes retreated back into her hand. "You're only prolonging the inevitable, Doc," she said, moving toward her.
"Maybe, maybe not. Computer execute Aereen-Theta-1." The medical officer said a computer chirp of acknowledgment was followed by a site to site transporter.
The Captain smirked and departed her office to make her way onto the bridge where she settled down in the center chair. Once comfortable, her blue eyed gaze settled in the viewscreen. With Michael taking a little personal time, a lot of things could happen.
